Training Night With EHC
The EHC firefighters dedicated their evening to acquiring skills for self-rescue scenarios, courtesy of training props from the Erie County Emergency Services’ Firefighter Survival Trailer. The training focused on skills such as entanglement removal, navigating reduced-size spaces, and overcoming maneuverability issues.
EHC Bravest Respond to House Fire on Emerson Drive
At 17:00 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Eggertsville Hose Company was dispatched to a reported house fire on Emerson Drive in the northern section of the fire district. Chiefs from Eggertsville arrived at the scene by 17:03, confirming a working fire. Crews from Engine 3 deployed two 1.75-inch hose lines into the front door and quickly extinguished all visible flames.
Two Generations of Service at the EHC
Jeff Yap has been a dedicated Eggertsville Firefighter for 22 years, holding positions on both the Firematic and Executive boards including Captain. Tim Yap, recently joining the EHC under our Junior Membership Program, is following in his Father’s footsteps. Tim is currently a student at Amherst Central High School.
Four New Recruits Added to the EHC Family
The Eggertsville Hose Company welcomed 4 new Recruits at tonight’s Company meeting. (Monday April 1st, 2024) The following members will begin their training in both EMS and Fire, gaining knowledge and skills to better protect the citizens of Eggertsville and Amherst, NY.
EHC Enhances Firefighter Health with New Exhaust Extraction System
The Eggertsville Hose Company has taken a significant step towards improving the health and safety of its firefighters and members by installing a state-of-the-art vehicle exhaust extraction system in the apparatus bay of the fire station.
Eggertsville Firefighters Aid in Snyder Fire District Blaze
In a display of courage and swift action, firefighters from the Eggertsville Hose Company (EHC) were called into action to assist with a major structure fire in the Snyder Fire District on Thursday. The blaze, which presented heavy fire conditions upon the arrival of the first responders, challenged the teams as they worked together to suppress the inferno.
