This past Saturday (05/09/2026), we celebrated our 118th annual Inspection and Installation of the Eggertsville Fire District and Eggertsville Hose Company.

Please help us in congratulating Truck Captain Brandon Schmitt, winner of this year’s Ira H. Striejewske Award.  He answered 1,112  alarms in 2025. A truly dedicated Firefighter, and role model to many.  Congrats, Cap!

Known throughout the company as a true team player, this member can always be counted on regardless of the task or circumstance. Her commitment to the department, fellow members, and the community we proudly serve is second to none.
The courage and bravery of this member is shown in and out of the Eggertsville Fire District and was especially evident during the tragic tour bus crash on Interstate I-90 near Pembroke, New York on August 22, 2025. While traveling down the thruway, an unexpected traumatic situation unfolded before her eyes. A tour bus, full of passengers overturned, trapping many on-board. In the face of chaos and uncertainty, she responded to the need for help with composure, compassion, and remarkable professionalism, providing critical care and support to those in need.
Please help us in congratulating EMS Lieutenant Nicole Woodford, the recipient of the 2025 William M. Belinson award.

This year’s Eugene M. Braun award goes to a member who demonstrates a large amount of pride within the company. He continuously helps when needed, and is a huge contributor to the ongoing efforts to strengthen our department, both operationally and socially. Just recently he helped re-organize our ‘49 Mack committee.
We are proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Eugene M. Braun award, Engine Captain David Rogge. Congrats, Cap!
