Today, firefighter Erin Drexinger joined female firefighters from across Erie County for the Erie County Women’s Firefighter Training Series. The session, led by Chief Strom of Buffalo Airport Fire and Chief Kinsley of Buffalo Fire, featured an all-female team of instructors. The training included advancing attack lines, understanding fire attack strategies in smoky conditions, and mastering primary and secondary search techniques. Participants also practiced victim removal using different drags and carries, forcing both inward and outward swinging doors, and demonstrating survival skills in zero-visibility conditions while following a hose line.
Eggertsville Hose Company proudly supported this training by providing an engine for live fire evolutions. Lt. Schmitt drove Engine 3, and Lt. Rogge operated the pump during the session. We are honored to support our women firefighters and their vital training.
