Tonight’s training was a unique and valuable experience.
We had the opportunity to drill inside a commercial structure—something that doesn’t come around often. The old Applebee’s building on Niagara Falls Blvd, soon to be demolished, was made available to North Bailey Fire Company for training, and they generously invited us to join them.
We ran three evolutions:
🚒 A roof crew practiced ventilation cuts
🔥 An interior team advanced an attack line and conducted a search
🧱 A third crew focused on entry and wall breaching
With fog machines simulating heavy smoke, we trained under realistic, low-visibility conditions. We were able to flow water inside, break through interior walls, and open up the roof—exactly the kind of hands-on experience that makes us better prepared for real incidents.
It was also a great chance to work side-by-side with North Bailey firefighters, just as we would during a mutual aid response. Big thanks to them for the invite—and for the awesome dinner afterward!
