Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization Memorial Scholarship
The Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid organization announces their Memorial Scholarship. Scholarships shall be awarded to any firefighter who is a member in good standing of a recognized fire company within the boundaries of Erie County and any members of a firefighter’s immediate family (husband, wife, son or daughter) who are currently, or will be, attending an accredited institution of higher learning. Eligibility will be limited to fully matriculated students (at least 12 credit hours). Applicants must complete all sections of the application and provide the following supporting information:
A letter of recommendation from the fire chief or president of the applicant’s own fire company must be submitted with application, on fire Company stationary.
A copy of your acceptance letter must be submitted with your application for first year students.
A copy of your transcript from your previous semester for those who completed their previous year.
The deadline for receiving scholarship applications will be June 1 for the academic year commencing the following September.

Eggertsville Hose Company Scholarship
The objective of the Eggertsville Hose Company Scholarship Fund is to enhance the
Academic achievement at the college level for members of the Eggertsville Hose Company, their spouses and minor children of members. The Eggertsville Hose Company will award scholarships annually for the academic year commencing in
September. The maximum amount of the scholarships shall be $250.00 per year.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Any Member in good standing of the Eggertsville Hose Company, any member’s
Spouse and minor children of members are eligible to apply for the scholarship towards an accredited institution of higher education. Eligibility shall be limited to fully matriculated students.
New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Scholarship Program – NYSAFC is pleased to offer a scholarship program to enhance, through academic achievement at the college level, the quality of leadership in the fire and life safety field and to assist Active, Associate, and Affiliate Association Members (and their spouses or children) in their efforts to pursue academic advancement. Beginning in 2010, scholarships will be awarded in honor of NYSAFC Past President Anthony J. “Andy” Messina and in memory of NYSAFC Executive Director Emeritus Ward A. Bohner and his wife Janice R. Bohner for their many years of faithful and dedicated service to the Association. The Anthony J. “Andy” Messina Scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing an emergency services degree (e.g., fire science, EMS, or emergency management). The Ward A. & Janice R. Bohner Scholarship will be awarded to those pursuing a general course of study in any other field. Through the program, NYSAFC provides scholarship grants to qualified students seeking to advance their education in their chosen field of study. This scholarship program is open to all current Active, Associate, and Affiliate members of NYSAFC (in good standing) and the spouses and children of those members. Tuition assistance is offered based upon merit, to individuals pursuing a higher education (full or part time) at an accredited institution of higher education. NYSAFC recognizes the professional diversity represented within fire service memberships and the value of encouraging its continuance. Therefore, all students meeting eligibility requirements and enrolled in matriculated college level programs will be considered for the scholarship program.
The application deadline for the Scholarship Program is March 11.
